Frank Hurley washing cinematograph film on the “Aurora”, from the First Australasian Antarctic Expedition, 1911-1914.
I love this photo, and I can’t think of the amazing Frank Hurley without thinking instantly of my all-time number one hero Sir Ernest Shackleton, for whose famous, but disastrous, Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, Frank Hurley was the official photographer.
