The publicity meeting for my novel was effing incredible.
My publicist, Laura, is a senior publicist, despite the fact that she looks half my age. For some reason everyone is incredibly excited about my odd little novel - it is an odd little novel, I’m not just saying that - and think it has extremely wide marketing appeal. So they’re going for it big time with me. WTF. The publicity plan, which runs into pages, and which I really wasn’t expecting includes going for all the big BBC radio stations for readings, reviews and interviews, TV, all the top magazines and newspapers, every literary festival, online stuff, the list goes on and on. Also something something awards somethings. Oh and something America and Europe something something.
I’m completely gobsmacked and really wasn’t expecting so much activity or energy to be going into promoting my book. If it goes well, I’ll hopefully be spending most of my annual leave from work travelling around doing readings and interviews (WTFHAHAHAHAOMG!)
Sorry to bang on about it but, you know, WOWZERS!
